Church Outing to Norwood
After worship on Sunday 7 September 2008, some of our congregation set off to Norwood Methodist Church - a Retreat Centre about 6 miles outside Otley on the way to Pateley Bridge. The pews at the back of the church have been removed and an open partition put across to make two separate spaces, and patio doors open out on to the garden area. There is a small kitchen and so it was ideal for our outing.
It is set on a hillside and the views are fantastic. We sat outside on benches and chairs to have our lunch in lovely sunshine. We had no coats on and it was so warm we found ourselves taking our jumpers and cardigans off.
Some of us just relaxed, talked and did a crossword (or tried to!) while others went blackberrying or just for a short walk. Dorothy and Pam D spotted a red toadstool with white spots – just like in a children's storybook – which Lindsay then photographed.
At 4 pm we had a short service and then left for home. A lovely afternoon.
