Flower Festival 2011

2011's theme was "Biblical Inspirations".  Four hundred years ago this year, the Bible was printed in English in a form that ordinary people could afford.

The Bible had been translated into English some time before and, although it wasn't printed, had already begun to have an influence on the English language through the introduction of words and phrases - many of which are still in common use today. Our flower arrangements illustrated some of them.

There was also an art exhibition along with a display of Bibles and other things biblical - and visitors helped us to hand-write Mark's Gospel over the weekend.

A total of £2,579.49 was raised. To view the programme, click here.
